I fully support this action. To those cheapskates who won't pay just £19 to save their license. We're better off without them. |

To all that emailed me for stickers we've now run out! But fear not, I have your addresses and will dispatch some to every one of you as soon as a new run is procured.
There will be a delay though as we're about to announce a competition to design a fresh new logo for PocketGPSWorld.cCom. We're going to await the outcome of the competition before we order new merchandise
Anyone who hasn't already applied can still do so and I'll put you all on the list for new stickers, as before please email darrenATpocketgpsworld.com with the subject line of PGPS Sticker. It's important you use the subject line exactly as spelt to ensure it gets to the right place! _________________ Darren Griffin |

If it's any help Darren, when the new merchandise comes in I'm happy to sit stuffing car stickers into envelopes and mailing them.
I'm sure that you have better things to be getting on with.
IIRC, you're near the Surrey/Hampshire/Berkshire border where I work so getting material to me shouldn't be too difficult.
The car stickers seem to be quite popular, but as far as I can see other merchandise is only available through Cafe Press which is based in the US whilst PGPSW is UK-based - is this something that might be worth looking into and possibly finding a UK outlet to generate a little extra income?
If nothing else, could a more prominent link to merchandise increase sales? _________________ Andy

That's very kind of you and I may well take you up on that!

The CafePress stuff is a relic left over from when we started and isn't great to be honest.
We do now have a supplier who can churn out embroidered clothing which is very much better and so once the new logo has been decided I'll look at offering a range of items such as Polo Shirts, T-Shirts, Fleeces and Baseball caps for sale. We can gauge interest and add other items if there is sufficient demand. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Mugs? Large Mugs?
There must be a few caffeine addicts within the membership and most people have a mug at work. _________________ Andy

Hmm not sure the embroidery would work so well on a mug ;)
Good idea though, perhaps one of those insulated plastic thermos type mugs? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Sorry, my fault, I thought you meant 'any' other item with the PGPSW logo.
An embroidered mug might work - you'd just have to be a fast drinker. _________________ Andy

One Suggestion
What about discount if you recommend a new member and they join.
2 New members Discount of £5
4 New members Discount of £10
6 New members Discount of £15
8 FREE Membership for a year.
This would encourage members to spread the word about how good the site is and the value of a comprehensive Speed Camera Database.
Anyone with a web site could but links to pocketgpsworld and get discount for new member that uses the link. _________________ Alistair

I like the idea, I'd have to see how easily it could be accomplished in practice though but definitely worthy of further consideration _________________ Darren Griffin |

And only a few minutes ago we discovered a frequent poster from here asking for the latest database on a warez site. And a few minutes digging identified he had two accounts under different ID's and email addresses.
I note that this user was always keen to comment on the database and offer his opinions yet had never subscribed nor had he ever contributed a location. Now we know why.
I only wish we could name and shame these thieves but both accounts are now suspended. _________________ Darren Griffin |

It is a GREAT shame. Maybe I'll go look at Warez to see if I can find who it was - on the strict understanding that I cannot name and shame him either. _________________ Dennis
