But surely PayPal automatically generates a receipt for the transaction anyway so why would anybody want a duplicate posting? _________________ Andy

I see on the P2P sites they have even said that the Speed camera database is from here £19 is a fantastic deal I know with garmin you have to pay £30-£35 for a year subscription so £19 is nothink |

I don't mind paying my 19 quid a year, the best database around, always reliable, had no technical issues as i had with TT database and Trafcam, i would say cheap at half the price, remember most databases dont inclue mobiles some not even redlight cams, and most of the databases are double the price.
In fact it saved me getting caught by a mobile the other day !
I support you fully - keep up the good work. |

You have my support. I just renewed yesterday this will be my second year using the database. Like others here I really appreciate the work that goes into it and believe its really great value. _________________ iPhone 6 - TomTom WE- CamerAlert - Brodit Passive Adjustable mount.

I may have missed it if it's already been mentioned, but is there a fairly way of time restricting a 'trial' database so that anybody who favours the TomTom 'brand' or whatever can try the database without thinking they might lose £19 if they don't like it.
For example, if I told a friend and they told their friend or whatever it might get like Chinese whispers but if somebody could trial the database first then they could see the benefits for themselves first hand.
This might even have a positive effect on membership if 'guests' have nothing to lose for a trial period, they might then be more prepared to subscribe for the full blown database and recommend it to their friends in favour of 'branded' updates.
Also, if there is a trial version of the database, there will be no need for members to 'lend' copies to friends to try, then they can't give it to their friends and it might reduce piracy that way.
I would be in favour of time restriction over geographical or content restriction for a trial because if you restrict it by content then anybody using a trial may not benefit fully and they might then be less inclined to subscribe for the full version.
Time limitations is also likely to put people off trying to sell a database because buyers would be peed off if they paid for it and it expired straight away _________________ Andy

There is no way to programatically limit access in this way. We could offer an old but complete database for evaluation but we then have problems with tracking it and could then find ourselves with hundreds of copies of it appearing on pirate and file share sites _________________ Darren Griffin

Hackers generally love time limited software as it gives them something to do. As the dowloads arn't passworded or registered I don't think PGPSW has a hacking problem, but with this they soon would. _________________ Dom

personally i think an up-to-date '30mph gatsos only' download would be good as a trial download

Now that idea I like! It wouldn't even have to be that uptodate.
You could also give them the pMobile as well for a laugh! _________________ Dom

It would all depend upon how much work would be involved in preparing a 'trial' database because it's hell's own job trying to keep track of things as it is.
Since MaFt is possibly the only person who knows exactly what is involved, I think we should leave him and the rest of the team to make the decision and give them our support. _________________ Andy
