Actually it'd be easier if you email me directly darrenATpocketgpsworld.com with a subject line of 'PGPS Sticker' and I'll get some out to you.
And of course this offer is extended to subscribers only _________________ Darren Griffin

I pay £50 year to update my originB2 (now 360). I dont even get mobile sites yet it does know what side of the road its on. I can't believe that people are complaining about £19 per year. Perhaps they should go and get the infomation themselves or if they don't like it, then don't purchase. These guys need all the support they can get and problably put in unbelievable hours to deliver this service. Unfortunatley, you cant please everybody all of the time!!!!! |

Actually when we say 'Lifetime' we mean as long as the site is still running so that will hopefully be a good deal longer! The 20 years thing is simply a limitation of the forums subscription coding which cannot cope with periods longer than 20 years |
At MY age, who flaming well cares if it's only 20 years?? _________________ Dennis

Fully support the original decision - it's very good value for money at £19/year. _________________ Phil |

Well, I don't actually think that preventing monthly subscriptions will actually stop it appearing on file-sharing sites but understand where you're coming from. I am shocked that people are so mean and dishonest and its a sad reflection of the world we live in.
Admittedly I only buy it every few months since I spend half my time in Australia and the rest of the time working from home. But an annual subscription is still excellent value. Compare this to the rediculous (rip-off) amount of money I have to pay for the Australian maps for my TomTom. |

Stop? No, reduce? We hope so!

And we're busily bringing the Australian database up to speed and you have access to this included in your subscription, as well as South Africa, Europe and North America as well! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hope this hasn't been suggested before, but I didn't have time to read through 6 pages!
Is there any way in which each download of the database could carry a unique identifier embedded within it? If so, you could quickly identify people disributing illegal copies and remove them from the subscribers' list.

It was suggested before, and answered by Darren:
Darren wrote: | NickG wrote: | Why not put a unique seed into each download of the file and identify who it is that's leaking the file (pretty easy in PHP). Then, whenever you see a pirated version of the file, disable that person's account and show them the evidence of why you're doing it. They'll have less incentive to share it with their mates. |
We already employ such measures. We've been banning the culprits on a regular basis for some months now. The issue was that some thought the £2 was low enough to subscribe, pirate, get caught and then re-subscribe under new IDs each month. Hence this move. |

hmm. thats a shame, i only just paid my sub aswell. do people who have submitted a camera still get there lifetime free? because i submitted one and didnt hear nothing back.
yes, £19 is not much ot pay for the camera updates. however, as a student its very difficult to come up with that extra £19. have you ever considered quarterly subs?
just to sya i didnt read the whole of this is just read the first few. |

Thanks for responding and replying to my post. Having read the pages since then, i note that other preventitive measures have been taken prior to this one so i agree in removing the low monthly sub as the next step of action. I read it as being the first step hence me not being over the moon about it.
Hopefully you'll see an improvement. |
