|
|
Hi,
I have got a XDA exec with Tomtom6 and a Solar Bluetooth GPS receiver...I am able to pair the device with my PDA and am also able to configure and define incoming and outgoing ports...COM 8 for incoming and COM 4 for outgoing....when I try and go to my tomtom software the only option which I get is to select the GPS type, in order to configure the device....and after selecting it keeps connecting to GPS device and nothing happens....I have even tried with Incoming (COM4) and Outgoing (COM8) and even with COM0 settings for COM ports within XDA, but to my bad luck I am not able to connect to the GPS device....can someone kindly help me with the above please
Thanks |

I don't have an XDA, so I can't help directly, but a few others do use them, so I'm sure someone will be able to help out soon! _________________ Jock

thanks for the msg...I am using a BT Solar Bluetooth GPS receiver...and when I try to configure the same using my Tomtom interface, the only option I get is to select the GPS type and once I select it shows me the next screeen saying connecting to GPS device and thereafter nothing happens....while pairing I use the 0000 passkey with the GPS so i select the same GPS receiver which shows a key with 0000, since its a non interactive device i thought this would work....hope I am able to convey the problem...kindly help...thanks |

Have a read through This Thread, the screen shots and port numbers mentioned will be correct for your device as I created the screen shots using an Exec. You only need the Outgoing port and don't forget the serial port profile check box. If following the guide fails please let us know at which point it falls over - Mike |

Before we go any further, can I check that you have followed this thread? Which, in turn, points to the instructions in this thread.
I'd hate for us to waste time re-inventing the wheel! _________________ Jock

Please don't apologise for posting on the forum, you need the information to get the device working - sometimes searching for information can offer results other times a question can be far faster in getting you the information you need, let us know how you get on configuring the device - Mike
BGF - Snap is a little too easy, I far prefer the game of Kalooki when it comes around to card games - Mike |
