My old Go300 used to connect up to my PC at home pretty quickly, but my new 720 takes AGES to . It gets there eventually but spends 30-40 seconds on the black screen with "Tomtom" written on it before anything seems to start churning on the PC.
I assumed that was just the way it is, but now I've tried it on a PC at work and it's just as quick as the old 300 was.
I'd only ever done changes to the old 300 on that PC via a card reader, so maybe there are some leftover config files on the home PC waiting for a Go300?.
Can any PC guru shed any light, or suggest a fix?
It's not important, just niggling.... |

My TT720 took ages to connect to the computer, unlike my TT700 which was pretty instant.
I then worked out that if i gave the TT720 some dinner ( an SD card ) to chew on and plugged it into the computer it then loaded up quickly too.
I think the problem, is because the TT720 sends out a signal to the PC saying there are 2 drives here to be connected, the PC can only find one, hence thats why it takes ages and probably hangs to find the other one.
You should find if you pop in an SD card your TT720 will connect normally.
Oh, if you want your MP3s on there, just create a folder called MP3 and away you go.

Nope, not that.. I've already got an SD card full of mp3s in it.
And it does find it quickly on a different PC too. |
