Anyone know if the N-series is due for update/replacement soon? With Mio releasing GPS such as the C520t with Teleatlas 2007 maps you'd have thought the N-series would be updated soon as well....
I'm looking for mapping that will cover Eastern Europe, but Navman's detailed Eastern Europe mapping is around 20% coverage....! I think they use 2006 maps though. _________________ TTG 720

People on AVForums have already sniffed out something new in F range, so I went looking for high end. Amazon already lists several new products here, here, here and here -- no details yet. |

Dont know where I found it but I think the extended Eastern European maps are due out in November (ie the Balkans ?). The present mapping covers CZ, Poland, Slovakia & Hungary.
TeleAtlas announced the additional mapping in Jan or Feb of this year so it is quite feasible that the new ones will arrive as planned in November.
I'll keep checking........... _________________ Gee-Pee

Hi Robert. Cynical as ever
This from Navman on 4th April (Note not 1st April)
Quote: | We would anticipate these areas to be incorporated in the next issue of mapping, as supplied by Tele Atlas. We would expect this to be around October/November of this year. |

Hi All !!
Been some time since I have been around this forum etc. Like many here I too have been a Navman product enjoyer but been a hater of the Navman Support and also their inability to work with the same calendar that the rest of the world works with.
In the interim, I have looked around at other brands, but have not found what I consider a good alternative to upgrade to, so have kept on using my old faithful PiN300 and have just been waiting to see what the new Navman (Mitac) would do in the future, or more the case if the brand disappeared completely.
Well !! Two weeks ago I actually received a phone call, (totally unexpected) from Navman here in Australia informing me that the support base here was rebuilding and new products to be introduced in Q4 of this year. Also a kind of apology for the situations of the past, but hopefully a new era is to descend upon us.
This week I note advertising in a auto products fortnightly catalogue (daily paper include) as to the new Navman S series for preordering of the units to be released on 10th Sept (from memory).
With what I have have seen within this thread, catalogues and heard, it sounds that perhaps the new Navman Company may be about to embark into a new era.
Let's Hope !!!
Best Regards,

Having two Navman products, (n40i and iCN630) which I find reliable and "clean" to use (never cause me problems!), good to see them finally catching up, since they always release late product, outdated maps
Now they seem after catching a cold, to be ahead of the game, especially with maps - Teleatlas 2007-q4
Look forward to adding the S-90 to my collection in October when it is released
All other S-Series models available within the next few days

S-series looks good. I see they only have Western Europe by default on the high end versions, but I need Eastern Europe as well, but I'll keep my eye on them as more details are released. _________________ TTG 720

The DVD will apparently have all their maps on it but you'll need to buy an activation code to access the likes of the US, Eastern Europe, Australia, New Zealand, etc.. _________________ Tim |
