|
|
i have a nuvi 300 and my dad has a 360 or something. But he has European maps preinstalled on his and I want to copy them to an SD card to be used on mine.
First is this possible? I have found the map file - over a gig!!
How to i save it on the sd card so that my 300 nuvi can use it?
many thanks

Assuming the Nuvi's maps are like the TomTom ones, you can't.
As far as Garmin are concerned, what you would be doing is denying them the sale of a map, which equals less lovely money for them. They don't like that, and call it all sorts of nasty names like piracy (and worse).
So they do their damndest to stop you copying them for use on more than one machine, by activation codes and registration numbers and the like.
If there ARE ways around it (and I certainly don't know them), the owners of this forum have a policy not to allow discussion about it.
Sorry. |

looks like i have been a littel naive over this! I didnt think about the piracy issue - its still pretty tight of Garmin though.
Im going to Spain at the end of the month and wanted to take my Nuvi - whats the cheapest way of getting detailed maps onto my nuvi?

Take a look here - just over £50.
Or do a swap with your dad for the holidays - if it were me it would only cost you a pint or two _________________ Phil |

Cant believe how expensive the maps are!!!! Is this price justified?
You are right, the swap solution is looking the best bet!
