do the maps need activating at all? might be best to contact TomTom customer services in the morning - there'll be a phone number on the website.

If you got them from a friend then they would need to be activated with a key. A map file suitable for installation via HOME is different.
As it is it sounds like you don't have a legitimate set of files so we cannot help you. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Go to the following web page and enter your "Product Code" the details as to where it can be found are on the page, follow the registration through and it will work, if you have no product code then the software is illegitimate - Here is the link - Mike |

i dont have the cd case or anything like that and my tomtom home i downloaded from threyre site, when he gave it to me the maps were in a folder called maps when i activate tomtom home it shows me evrything thats installed like the themes and voices, but not the maps so i cant see a code on them either, but when he gave it to me he said heres the folder with maps, and that was it my other friend said he uses gps navigator and that it works fine except for the lengthy time it takes to save and calibrate maps. he said to ask u guys if u know of any detailed canada maps that are saved and anywhere i can buy them??? |

It's clearly not a legitimate map set. If you don't have the activation code card then you cannot install it full stop. _________________ Darren Griffin |

And the TT software licence doesn't allow you to sell on, or give away your TT...ridiculous though that maybe. |
