Some of the new features, eg map update, will not work with the 6 series maps. You will therefore have to buy the updated maps in the new 7 series. I expect TomTom will give the version 7 navigation software free if you buy the new maps

It's very likely, but I wouldn't want it right now - it's full of bugs _________________ Cheers, John

The 'series 6 (or 7) numbering of the map isn't important. It is the TeleAtlas release which is the key. As an example, the 675.140x maps on the ONE XL are from TA release 2007.1. _________________ Tim |

Yes Tim, but I know someone who has tried to use 675.1409 with Navcore 7, and when attempting to use the map correction facility has had a message to update to the latest maps using TomTom Home

That would depend on the Navcore 7 build; 675 is a suitable map. _________________ Tim |

Old TeleAtlas maps should work fine with Navcore 7, BUT the enhanced features (such as Mapshare) will not work.
Yours being Navteq MIGHT be an extra headache but shouldn't be.... |

Without any prior knowledge, I think it might be a problem. I believe that MapShare was a tie-in between TomTom and TeleAtlas, which has since progressd into TomTom making an offer to buy TA. I doubt if a similar agreement with NAVTEQ exists especially as TomTom announced the termination of their contract with NT. _________________ Tim |

Sorry, should have been more specific...
I meant to say that Navteq maps might be useable on Navcore 7, not that Mapshare would work with them. |
