Most people have found that you have to use TomTom Home to copy the MP3 files, as otherwise they are not recognised. |

Would someone be kind enough to explain how this is done. I have searched the Manual and Home help and nothing explains it. The manual refers me to Home and Help in Home tells me I can do it but not how.
I have now deleted everything on my SD card and my Mp3 files are on the computer in a folder called Mp3. Where do I go from here? _________________ Bazzza

iirc the go has 2gb mem anyway so goto your software (TTG Home) switch on your TT and select arrow till you get to update voices maps etc then press the arrow again and you should get to update songs or playlist or something like that then basically drag and drop the files (there is a kinda tutorial from here) from your pc onto the 'harddrive' of your Go. It will open another explorer window labeled something like drive K or L or M depending on how many removalable drives you have - hope that helps. _________________ TTG 720 with TT Home edition 2.0

Thanks Mike. That worked. Only problem is that it only allowed me to load 41 mp3 tracks and it then told me that the receiving folder was full.
Any clues?
ps. What is the SD card slot for? _________________ Bazzza

That is because you have loaded them into the Go's memory.
Put a 1GB or 2GB SD Card into your SD Card Slot and load the MP3 tracks onto the SD Card. I have 21 complete CD's on mine. _________________ Graham.

I tried that before but TT doesn't seem to detect them. I put the files onto an SD card by putting the card into the PCs SD slot and copying them from a file on the PC. Should I be using Home to put them on the SD card? If so,how? _________________ Bazzza

I only use Windows Explorer to install mp3 files to the mp3 folder on the card, I notice you have named the folder Mp3 in a number of previous posts, you need to drop the caps from the folder name, the TomTom will not see a folder named Mp3 but it is happy to use mp3
The other issue could be down to card speed, does the device boot up with the card intalled, if it does you don't have a problem with card speed - if it fails to boot up with the card inserted you might need a newer faster card - Mike |

Problem solved. 1GB SD card seemed ok so I put a folder on it called "mp3" (No caps) using explorer, plugged the Sd card back into the TT and it works fine. I think the capital M was the problem.
"What's next?" indeed. Thanks. _________________ Bazzza

At a guess I would say a HTC Advantage. _________________ Graham.
