The catlocator.com website describes an established cat locator system using directional antenna.
There are various GPS based systems available of a size suitable for tracking dogs and a promise of a miniaturised transmitter for cats within a few months!!!! |

Crap website
Details are actually here. However, this system won't actually allow you to track the animal's nocturnal wanderings, only its current location. Quote: | This system can be used anywhere in the world as it does not rely upon satellite technology (GPS) which requires a direct view to the satellites... |

Sorry to bump this topic but ....
you could always try Astro from GARMIN http://www.garmin.com/products/astro/ It's aimed at dogs - but it would probably fit a cat. _________________ Phil |

I purchased the Plus versions of the Loc8tor. Useless would be my opinion. 600 ft range, 60 ft would be more accurate.
Got a full refund on returning it.
