|
|
Ive got a go300 but as its a oldish model i thought i might get a newer model
I wouldn't need one that has maps outside the uk i dont think i would ever take it if i ever went out of the uk
Ive not got a bluetooth phone so i cant take advantage of those extras but in time i might get a bluetooth phone
So whats the best one to get
Thanks in advance |

Loads get them from the net here, and work great, its the one that that don't work you wished you got it from a local shop, so they can return it and get a replacement quickly, its just a chance you take and goes on how lucky you are or unlucky _________________ TomTom Go 700,

Why would it come with a case, when they can sting another 20 quid out of you. . Mine was £20 for my ONE. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

You can get a nice leather case for about £8 on ebay and think that was with the P&P also _________________ TomTom Go 700,

I've used the ONE XL and love it. I have recommended it to a lot of my friends who are looking for a basic GPS device with a solid feature set, and I haven't gotten any complaints from them! |

ive been looking at the ONE XL seems ok but there is some bad reviews, the one that would concern me the most
( windscreen mount no longer has a locking clip to secure it to the windscreen so it tends to fall off while your driving. They have also made the arm very short so once you have secured the mount to the screen it is extremely difficult to attach the unit as it is too close to the glass and near impossible to remove it, unless you remove the mount as well each time and then you start all over again.)
i hope the 520 has still got the locking clip?
reading some more reviews it seems its not to good on the map side http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/index.cfm?reviewid=917
it seems that my go300 out performs the one xl thats just my feelings, but everyone has their own opinum |

the suction cup of the new tomtom's is nothing compared with the holder I got with my first tomtom. so I sent off for the Brodit mount, a well made bit of kit, mind you, I thought they came pre=drilled, but they do not, well, the one I got had no holes in it to screw the other part to. _________________ TT GO 720. what is the speaker like on the 520 im sure i read somewhere that the speaker is not that good
i wouldn't want one that is not loud enough, with my go300 its loud enough at 85% and thats with my car stereo on, low level of course |

I sold my GO300 to a mate, 18 months ago when I upgraded to GO700. He still has it and I see him every week. He still hasn't ever used the reset button or sworn at the device.
I let my GO700 go to a relative last week after deciding to keep the 720 (and the 710), but I don't know how good a decision that was. I thought at first the 720 was the top banana, but I've decided I need to get it exchanged.
If I were in your position right now (but with the experience I have of the last 18 months), I'd be very tempted to stick with the 300 for another 6 months to wait for the 520/720 to get sorted out. _________________ Dennis

I must say my 300 is very good ive noticied sometimes the voice commands can be a bit slow, example ive allready got to a point before the instruction to turn
But ive got a 2gb card on order,i wasn't going to sell my 300 i was going to give it to my g/f as it would be handy for her |

I have now passed round 1 in getting my 720 dealt with. Round 2 coming up. _________________ Dennis
