Nope sorry you can't! You can backup data files, etc but not apps that have registry entries etc.
Look at it as a good opportunity to give your system a spring clean! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Well I thought I would do it.
So far I notice I have lost the currency converter, but I have gained a new default Theme. |

Well spotted, I hadn't notice the calculator had lost it's converter, I quite liked that although it never remembered exchange rates! _________________ Darren Griffin |

i installed the rom upgrade last night, only took about an hour to do rom, reinstall all apps, reset preferences, and restore data / patches etc.
2210 seems a bit quicker, theme is now a plain blue, and best of all my wi-fi card / zero config. connection works a lot better.
nb. don't forget to secure your TT2 favourite locations as POI's. |

Can you see data on the storage card using file explorer? Simplest way around this is to format the storage card and re-install the maps. if you do this then don't forget to back-up any custom POIs before hand.
Another option would be to use SoftWinters Storage Tools to give the SD Card a health check, it's available here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Unless you have any way of verifying that the card can be read successfully in other devices then I suspect that it is just a corrupted map which could be a coincidence.
Before you format it may be worth simply re-installing your chosen map to the card and seeing if this resolves matters? _________________ Darren Griffin |

tried reinstaling map and still not found, however if small enough map installed to main memory then transfered to sd card, all ok.
but ofcourse can`t install whole of uk as one map via main unit. |

There is something very odd going on here! Have you checked the card using that utility yet? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I think you would be best to run Storage Tools to check the card and then format it afresh. Re-load the maps and see where we are at.
What make is the SD card? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Don't know if it matters & it's a bit late to mention now but I took my SD card out before performing the upgrade and have had no problems. Just popped the card back once TomTom was reinstalled and everything worked fine. Didn't have to reinstall the maps on the card.

It should make no difference to the application of the ROM upgrade. I left both my Cf and SD cards inserted whilst the upgrade took place and it all went smoothly. _________________ Darren Griffin |

aliendad, do you have any software on the SD card that is run on start-up? I ask because I have read about an issue with the upgrade where because the OS can't see the card quickly enough it creates a folder called SD Card. Then, when the SD card does come online it gets called SD Card2. Should be easy enough to check.
