I'm trying to follow this thread, but you are losing me with your technical jargon Dennis. Are the thingies, the floppy bits that plug into the wotsits ? _________________ Tommo...

Sorry, Tommo. I try my hardest to keep the jargon to a minimum, but there are some technical terms that simply can't be avoided. I mean, there's "Arms" and "Limbs", "fingers" and "digits", but for "thingies", you're just plain stuck with it. It's like describing a spiral staircase without using your hands. Maybe you could try getting onto an evening class for thingies? _________________ Dennis

Last desperate throw of the dice - try one of those USB multi hub thingies (off your best mate - no point buying one to prove me wrong).
Final last throw of the dice - take the PC to a man who knows about thingies. _________________ Dennis

Nah, you're really clutching at straws now! - unless it's 27% of a very small Hard Disk and if you built it yourself you had more sense than to put a 10GB hard disk in (but even 27% of that would be far more than the TT needs).
If you're a whizz, replace the USB board. (As if I know what I'm talking about). Or reinstall the drivers for it, or check for new ones. Or build a new computer.
Did you consider System Restore to several months back? Seriously useful at times. _________________ Dennis

Break into your baby sister's piggy bank (or your baby's piggy bank) and go round to PC World and get one of their cheapo machines which will be good enough for TT to succeed. Or join the board of whoever is in charge of the new speed cameras in Saltash tunnel and buy yourself a million new machines with the profits. _________________ Dennis
