|
|
Hi,
This is all new to new so please have patience
I have recently purchased a Mio P550 running TomTom 6 & I'm more than pleased with the device, but when I'm in the contacts program & running on battery power the device switches off after about 5 seconds , but this does not happen when on mains power supply.
Yours thoughts to rectify this hiccup will be appreciated.
Thank you - Mike |

I have mine set as
Battery Power turn off after 3 mins
External Power turn off (unticked)
It could be your backlight setting just switching the screen off. Both my settings are set to 1 minute.
All the above were/are the default settings.
When you say it turns off after 5 seconds, have you got the auto-lock mode operating?
The only other thing I can think of is, did you give your battery the full recommended charge before use? Maybe the battery is low (or faulty). |

Mine does this if the battery is getting low.
Another question, if i dont use mine for a few days, the battery is dead and it won't power up unless on charge for about 20 mins first.
Why does the battery drain when its supposed to be turned off? |

ActiveSync starts itself in the background for some reason, even if you haven't synchronised with PC, so.
Start your P350/P550.
Go to Start – Programs – Activesync.
Tap on Menu then Add Server Source’
Enter 1, 1, 1, 1 as the server.
User a
Password b
Domain c
Next uncheck the boxes
End.
Now go back to Menu – Schedule and use the two sliders to select each as Manual
OK
Now go to Activesync - Options, where you can delete the Server you’ve just added. It will now keep the Manual settings.
You will still be able to use Activesync in the normal way but you’ll find it no longer auto-starts when it’s left alone, thereby saving some battery power.
Mio recommend a ‘top-up’ at least once per week. |

Also go to the Mio site and select Support then P350 or P550 where you will see the battery warranty has been extended from 6 months to two years from date of purchase.
Next click on Downloads and get the Power patch. |
