Hi,
I'm after a new 720 (+ genuine case) but am having problems finding a reputable supplier who actually has one in stock at a reasonable price.
Can anyone who has spent some hours researching the same thing as me help by suggesting any possible companies who can offer next-day delivery?
At this rate it looks like I'm going to go with Amazon, who claim to have stock, but I'd rather not due to the poor after-sales service.
Regards,
Mercury |

I had tried Argos (and again after seeing your message) and both times it said there was no stock.

I have now done the same, thanks - and might even be able to collect on my way home from work!
I was going to try Pentagon GPS (as their site lists it as available and costs less than £300 including next day delivery) - but they still haven't replied to a stock query I sent on Saturday morning, and I just tried calling them and it went straight to answer phone - so I think I think they are best avoided.

I got mine from here last week,
www.dsldevelopments.com
I had to pay the postage, but it was sent of the same day.
I would use them again, and they are cheaper than Amazon

I did pick up my 720 from Comet on the way home from work, and now that I've had a little play, initial impressions are good!
Thanks for the feedback/suggestions.

Glad you managed to find one, hopefully all works OK with it, I was not so lucky and will be returning my 720 tonight. The shop no longer have stock so it'll be a One XL for me instead. |

For anyone who's interested...
I've just had a message from Maplin Electronics informing me that the 720 is back in stock (144 of them!). With the £25 discount voucher (for spending over £300) the price comes down to £304.99 all-in. This is the best price I could find on Monday but they didn't have stock at the time so I bought mine from Comet instead.

My local Halfords is out of stock due to the spate of returns..

If it's not too late - buy anywhere else but Comet. Comet has currently bizarre in-store policy upon which any returned items with packaging open (regardless of whether they are faulty or not) are subject to 10% "restocking" fee (there is A6 sized leaflet by the till informing you of this - 10% if item is unpacked but is returned in original packaging, 20% if item is unpacked and some of the packaging is missing). That policy is executed on both refunds and replacements.
If your Tomtom suffers from very common handsfree buzzing issue or bluetooth pairing problems t will take a lot of nerves and calls to Trading Standards before you can squeeze some common sense out of Comet in-store managers. |

I returned my 720 to Comet last Wednesday and they did not charge me any restocking fee. Maybe they have only started to do this? Can't see how they could ever get away with that if the product is faulty. |
