Right, just a quick thought that i wondered if any of you guys agreed with me on. As we all know, the new tomtom 720 is out and it comes with the new version 7 of the sat nav software along with the new version 7 maps. My question is this, as the new versions are now out in shops, and the new maps from teleatlas are now released to manufacturers, ie google, tomtom etc etc, do we think that tomtom in their money making mind are about to launch the new navcore 7 along with the version 7 maps. Seems to me like its too much of a coincidence that both products are available on the 720 and not available for anyone else. I reckon the navcore 7 will only be able to be installed along with a map upgrade! Oh and the maps in my area have had no updates at all :S grr _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

Your not alone in not seeing any updates for your area. So far I have found 5 roundabouts that have been here for years, yet still do not appear on the new 720 maps _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2699lmt

Well based on the teleatlas website, all of the main road changes in the newcastle area have not been touched from the last update in jan. v dissapointed now as navteq have updated most of the major road issues in the newcastle area. if only I could get navteq map updates on my tomtom one _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

TeleAtlas don't seem too clever on mapping the UK period.
You can tell by looking at Google maps who use 'em.
Seem to be quite good in Europe though. |

No updates here either, and Google Maps is showing same out of date mapping.
Have reported local road upgraded to dual carriageway which was finished over 2 years ago.
Streetmap.co.uk map is correct and use Ordnance survey maps. |

Today was the only time since having the new maps I was able to give them a bit of a test and I found that they do appear to rout me better than the ones on my 500. The only correction I found was to a roundabout, which now give instructions for a roundabout and not a chicane. |
