Ok lets put it this way would I be right in thinking that if Tom Tom list some N series Nokia phones as compatible for the 720 on their site, the Nokia N 95 would work. Some one out there must have one.

Data and calls work with my N95, the 720 has it listed.
But no SMS with the N95 unfortunately. Sad

Seanm, thanks for that I purchased one yesterday but they did say I had fourteen days to return it. I am not bothered about the SMS, it's the data and calls I thought might not work. Looks like I can keep it then. Just have to find time now to learn to use both of them. N95 and 720 that is

What’s peoples opinions on SD card. Can 4 and 8 GB be used and if so which seem to be the best.

I (surprisingly?) just got rid of my Garmin 680 to get a TT720, and glad to be back in the Tomtom world!
In comparison to the 680, the screen does not seem quite so bright, but brilliant all the same, the map looks a little plain compared to the Garmins 'Comic San' style typeset and graphics, but seems more 'grown up' for it.
The mapping in this area is FAR superior to the Garmins with higher levels of detail, including railway lines, and unnamed apartment roads. One glitch I have noticed, is that if you try to navigate to somewhere that has no street name, but on a road it tells you no mapping available rather than announcing turn left/right etc at the next turning... weird.... It worked fine on TT6.... It does not even try to get you as close as it could to it, just bombs.....my example, I currently live on an appartment complex, the internal road is made up and shown on the map, but will NOT navigate to it.
I have already reported a map fault (very easy to report) it seems the mappers were premature showing a road that has not been built yet (but probably will in the next 3 years..it's currently a swamp) maybe they are preparing for future new roads by searching planning requests etc...?
Anyway, despite the (minor) bug very pleased.
Anyone got the higher quality TT910 TTS voices working on it from a SD card yet?

SDHC isn't supported by TomTom so unless you can get a non-SDHC card then you might be stuck with 2Gb. I use an Integral high speed 2Gb card and Darren has a SanDisk Ultra 2Gb card in his GO720.

Sorry if this has already been asked but there are now lots of posts on the 720. How do I add a new bypass and A road that is not on the maps? Does the device trace your route having pressed (A) or can it be drawn freehand? I am a bit baffled.

Has anyone received a 720 from Dixons yet? I ordered mine back on 5th July, had a confirmation email on 2nd August and had payment (and more importantly my instant cashback) taken on 2nd August.

My Brodit mount turned up today for my C2 and I'm very impressed. Fits perfectly and is within easy reach when driving. Just need a 720 to test it out with now!

I have also an outstanding order with Dixons from 2/7/07.

It has stated that the order is in progess since 6:23am on 2/8/07.

I can only think that it is a long way from the storage facility to the bloke who puts it in the delivery van!

I have spoken to them & I have been informed it should be with me by Wednesday.

I will let you know if or when my unit arrives.

My 720 arrived from PCWB today.

Does anyone know when the cases by tomtom are being released?
Or can anyone else recommend a different but suitable protective case?

Thanks, they said that a third email would let me know when the unit has shipped. I have received nothing today so I'm not holding out much hope for a Wednesday delivery.

Hi Dave,

Will wonders never cease.

I have just had an email from Dixons stating that my unit is now in the hands of DHL.

So hopefully tomorrow/Wednesday I will have a new toy play with.

I will let you knowhen/if it arrives.
