You don't really need the silent voice for this to work, when you configure the warnings leave the "Warn Only if POI On Route" check box empty, now you can have your warning sounds using any method you please.
If you don't know where you are going plan a route and you will get warnings plus navigation, if you do know where you are going simply press "Clear Route" and you will only get Warnings no directions - Mike

Sportsman, can I make a couple of suggestions, please.
Firstly on forums like this they don't like you saking the same question in several different places, as any answers get spread out and muddled, with different people giving advice in different places.
People have started to answer HERE so best to just look there.
Also, while they will love to see more posts, be careful where you put them - the "Speed camera" section isn't really right for a question about pictures. You'd be much better off in the TomTom Go section.
Once you are in the right section, don't just add your question onto the end of someone else's post UNLESS it is about the same subject.
If you've got a new question, ask it by using the "NEW TOPIC" button at the top of the index page.
Finally, I'd love to help but I've only got my 720 today, and TomTom Home won't let me register it, so I don't want to go too far customising until that is sorted out! One thing I will say though, please be careful about the terms you use, as people are trying to guess EXACTLY what you might have done.
When you say

firstly I think you mean "folder" where you've said "file" (a folder is a place where you keep files - like your map folder),
and secondly, on my 720 there isn't a folder (or even a file) called "images" (although there is one called "photos" - have you tried that one?) and the map folder is called "Western_Europe" not "union"!
good luck in the TomTom forum, hope you get it sorted...

sorry to be thick!
i need it spelling out, fear of failure etc.
the 720 isn't mentioned on the compatibility page:(
or is this classed as an original GO?
I'M CONFUSED!
so if i have the 720, i need to download the files for the Go 910?
i read the associated instructions and they looked very similar to the screens i am looking at.
its ages since i downloaded from here, back when i bought my parents a TT500. i cant remember if the download facility allows me to download multiple versions or if it was a one shot deal.
thanking you in anticipation for you confirmation, prior to me buying updates.

Gary, the instructions for the 910 speed camera installation Here are about as close as you can get to the newer 720 device. Both units use Text To Speech and so the instruction set covers the newer device.
You can allways use the ogg warning sounds for the camera database if you don't want the hassle of setting up the TTS engine for spoken alerts - the choice is yours see This Page for additional information - Mike
