Dave,
Are you at liberty to tell us if the mapping/database problems re Cornwall/Devon etc have been sorted out? |

Also, are there any problems with running the TTN3 upgrade with CheckPOInt 2.0.2? Will it need re-installed? Are there any conflicts that people know about? |

No problem, TomTom do state this in their press release. |

Is anything known about where the traffic information is sourced from?
If Trafficmaster, then I would go for it, but if it comes from the source that drives RDS then I wouldn't be so sure... |

also Dave,
Reading another tread in this forum , it says that ttnv3 has cross border travelling, but then it also mentions that the user has to switch maps manually, and add way points for it to work.
can you just clarify if cross border travelling still requires the user to manually switch maps, or it does this automatically as driving etc.
can i just simply set livigno (italy)into my ttnv3 and drive, or do i have to add way points etc, and switch maps on route (very similar to how it works now switching maps etc)
hopefully it will be automatic map selection
Cheers

Nick, TomTom say Cross Border Routing is available if you install MRE (Major Roads of Europe). It won't route you across detailed street level maps and TomTom say they have no plan to do this yet.
Martin:-
St Ives (Dorset)
St Ive (Cornwall)
St Ives (Cornwall)
St Issey (Cornwall) |

Will I be able to sell my Ipaq 3660 with TTN2 after I have upgraded to TTN3 on my new 2210 ?
Will the new owner of my old TTN2 have problems with future activation if required ? |

The data is TMC that is served directly from TomTom via GPRS. TMC is a lot better than RDS and IMHO more accurate than Trafficmaster as well as giving more information on a particular problem or cause of congestion. _________________ Darren Griffin |

We have no information on this but I think that it would be best to assume that the upgrade cancels your TTNav2 licence. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Excellent news.
The only drawback could be the cost of using GPRS over the telephone network. Do you have any ideas/information on data usage and possible costings? |

I really can't say, the service will not be available until May but if the Livewire service is anything to go on then data usage is very low, say 5k per sync which would mean something like 2MB a month for a heavy user using the service every day. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Traffic info over GPRS:
Won't work for me!
My mobile phone (Nokia 6310) integrates with the handsfree car kit using bluetooth. It can't simultaneously talk GPRS with my iPAQ 2210, even if the voice channel is not active.
My options are:
- Replace the bluetooth car kit with a wired version
- Buy a CF mobile data card to run GPRS. With a new sim card & all the hassels that go with it.
Neither option is very attractive. |

OK, am I being stupid - is the upgrade available yet?
I've looked on the TT site both under TTN3 and upgrade but can't find a link which allows me to buy the upgrade...
