Unfortunately, Sunday 28th March 2004 isn’t a good date for me. Crying or Very sad

There’s only a very slim chance that I can make it and I would only be able to decide on the actual morning of the 28th. Sad

However, if I don’t make the inaugural PocketGPS World pub meet, I hope that the rest of you folks have a great time. 8)

BTW, did you know that BST starts that day so everybody loses an hour’s sleep? And no, that isn’t the reason why I probably won’t be able to attend! Wink

Well, my iPAQ arrived on Wednesday, and it's rarely been out of my hands! 8O Rolling Eyes

:D So, I'm really looking fwd to a meet to find out more about it cos I know I've barely scratched the surface of what it can do! (And I've actually done quite a bit!)

Would love to attend the gathering, but have a friend coming over from Ireland. Will keep an eye out for reports after and hopefully you guys will be arranging another if this one is sucessfull.

Dave, I've yet to get any GPS stuff, but from what I've seen on the web I'd be interested in seeing the Haicom CF/Mouse receiver as well as Tom Tom. (At the mo they look like the combo I'd go for.) So I guess anything you think is better I'd be interested in! :D

Ok we have a location for next Sunday's meet-up Laughing

The venue is the Poachers Arms, Alton Road (B3349), South Warnborough, Hampshire. I have prepared a zip file containing the written directions for those of you still using paper maps Wink

as well as a TomTom POI file containing the location and for anyone who needs it, the Lat/Lon reference as well. You can download the .zip file here. For quick reference it is M3 Junction 5, head south on A287, AT first roundabout take 3rd exit on to B3349 and follow past RAF Odiham until you reach South Warnborough. Total distance from M3 is just under 4 miles.

We plant to get there for 12.30 on Sunday (28th March) and all who wish to join us are welcome. Just in case there is any doubt, we aren't able to offer complimentary food or drink but the bar has a decent menu so for anyone wishing to eat you won't starve but do bring your wallets!

We will bring along a wide range of GPS receivers, jackets etc, you can see Brodit mounts and I shall be able to demonstrate MS Smartphone running Mapopolis Beta.

Should be a good day, and certainly a very informative one looking at all the different bits of kit. The pub looks/sounds nice as well.

Thanks for the POI containing the location of the pub Darren - very useful. Also, 12:30 is a very good time as it would take us a couple of hours to get there, so it means we don't have to get up TOO early on a Sunday!! Thumbs Up

Look forward to hopefully seeing everyone there.

I hope to attend the meeting, although it’s still not certain. However if I can make it then I’d like to see as much different equipment to what I’m running.
