From bad to worse. Been trying to get the correct latest map from TT after they kept giving the wrong one or other problems. Had to buy a new SD card (Kingston 1GB). Tried to follow the forum instruction for copying to a new card. I included 'hidden files' etc to the PC. Copied to the new SD card. Put new card in TT One and everything was fine. It worked but had the wrong map on that TT gave and apologised for.
Went to TT Home and deleted the wrong map and tried to update the new latest free update map.
Message said "There is no disc in the drive. Please insert a disc into drive\device\harddisk3\DR6.
TT advice (been using TT History for this problem for a few months) suggested along the lines of putting the new card back in the drive on PC. Couldn't download to it so put the old smaller SD back in TT and downloaded.
Then of course it said after downloading that it could not install as not enough space.
Thought I would start again by Restoring the original map purchased with the TT via TT Home BUT that packs in after 7% saying error and Cline.dat.
SO:
Restore doesn't work
The old card just freezes TT One now and I have to reset it.
The new large card has no map on
And the update is no longer there with the map for me to download. Told TT and they said phone them as they can not resolve it by email. In a queue for ages and gave up.
Well that's my frustration released. |

FazerUK, I've found the downloads for various maps I've been given by TT over the last few weeks in a folder (TomTom\Home) in my documents. Are you suggesting I can just copy some/all files to the new card? The files are Zipped.
Thanks for any advice. |

So please, before I have a go, is this what I do?
A) On my new card which has a copy of my old card (or mostly all) put the download on it after unzipping. Do I have to delete anything from the card first?
Or
B) Put an older map on the old or new card after deleting files
Do I need to put all the download on or just certain files.
Sorry for being a pain. |

I not 100% sure, but I would unzip the maps and then copy the map folder over to the tomtom, and that should work
The reason I not 100% sure is that I have not done it that why before only loaded off a DVD but you will see what to do once you unzip that zip folder _________________ TomTom Go 700,
