Dear Darren
You say it will remove data and programs. Is it likely to change any part of the activation of TTN2 when you reinstall it?
TIA

No, that should not be an issue. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hey,
I believe you mentioned that it fixed the SD Card autorun bug, could you expand a little on this for me as I am not sure as to what you mean.
I ask as I am having problems since upgrading, every time I reset there is now a timedelay until my SD Card is read this means that a folder called SD Card is created I presume due to my reg hack to move the temp internet files to this card. Also my icons are therefore gone fo rprograms I have installed.
I apreciate this is not teh right site for this sort of stuff but I noted your comments on the MS Newsgroup, so hope you don't mind I came here to post a reply
Nice site btw I have just been given a second hand gps so will be taking a long look round
Best regards - Dave |

It wasn't me who mentioned the autorun bug but another poster replying to my message.
Are you saying that you have these issues after installing the ROM upgrade? _________________ Darren Griffin |

The nearest I can ascertain is it's some kind of SDK for OEM PocketPC Manufacturers. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hello
since I loaded this new update, everytime I exit a program that uses my bluetooth gps, my connection is dropped in "blue tooth manager" I have to recconect to my gps(fortuna clip-on)
Im using tomtom 2 (nmea 0183v2 bluetooth/com eight),before I was using nmea 38400...but that just freezes it now
and
Copilot 4 live(4800/com eight) this is what it autodetects
I tried updating tomtoms bluetooth driver from 2.06 to 2.07 but this freezes my ipaq?????
Didnt have this problem before. Am I using the right settings?? |

I'm sure it's normal for the BT Connection to be dropped when you exit the application that was using the BT Serial Port?
As for settings, NMEA@4800 is probably the default. _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK I plucked up the courage and installed the update this evening!
The good news is that the MSN Messenger, MS Reader and BT updates are all now rolled up in this ROM update. If you had previously installed any of these as individual updates they would have consumed precious memory rather than being held in ROM. Running this update will put them into ROM and free the memory they occupied
No problem issues observed so far. It may be my imagination but the default Today theme seems to have changed as well? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Does anyone know if this update solved the following???? Or do we still need to load the fix from www.scarybearsoftware.com
"The Pocket PC 2003 OS appears to have a bug that can slow down the performance of a Pocket PC device, and can potentially cause ActiveSync delays. It has been identified that after every soft-reset of your device, a few extra "Notification Events" are added to the Notification Event Database on your system (This database holds system notifications such as alarms, timed events, etc.). After several soft-resets, a device can have several hundreds of extra notification events that can reduce the performance of a device."

I personally never experienced this issue so didn't bother applying the fix. However I will check the notifications database later today and let you know if its full! _________________ Darren Griffin |

No, my 2210 keeps the connection open which is good if I am switching between applications, i.e from smartST to Anquet. I assumed this was normal?
I experience occasional bluetooth lockup so this update may cure it, but is there a way back once the update has been applied? |

I'm afraid it's a one way upgrade, no possibility of downgrading afterwards. Having said that I'm happy with it, no issues at all post upgrade. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Can I do a backup to the CF card, apply the ROM update, then restore from the backup? Don't really want to have to reinstall all the apps... |
