I have a problem with the auto on/off feature on my 910. It will switch on but not off. I thought that it checked if the car battery voltage was at charging voltage to determine when to switch on/ off. Mine will switch on whenever there is power so I have to make sure the TT is not accidently switched on when the key is turned on for radio etc on my vehicle.
I asked Tom Customer support (wash my mouth out ) Something else I have learned from you FAQ-"What should I do when my GO (510/710/910) device switches off and on while driving?
"they said the TT program been updated so as to stop the TT switching off when the connection on the mount momentarily breaks when the car bounces. My view is the mount design is so poor that it is not good enough to keep the connection permanent under normal driving conditions . I have had mine repaired by TomTom to stop it lifting off the mount without pressing the release button.
Is there any way to switch off the feature to prevent getting a flat battery on the TT . _________________ Colin + TomTom 910 |

No, this was as TomTom explained disabled in an earlier firmware release because of problems caused by the mount. _________________ Darren Griffin |

There is a post from user andrewcrane that detailed how to get this working again, but I think the very latest update defeated his work around code, not sure though as I never tried it - dennisn did though, searching the forum on a mobile is not too easy though, perhaps a search would turn up the original post when using a PC? - Mike - still sat in a tent full of mud! |

Colin, now I am back at the PC searches are much easier - have a look at This Post which should sort you out, but I am not too sure it will work with the very latest 910 software, you might need have to put up with slightly earlier version - Mike |

Remember - BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP before you start messing about. I had absolutely no problem with it. _________________ Dennis
