TomTom used to be the best Sat naves on the market when it was a small company but now they have take off they product range has gone from good to bad
About two months ago I purchase a new TomTom One XL with UK Map, And 6 weeks later I purchase a new TomTom TMC receiver
That same day I plug the TomTom TMC receiver into the socket at the base of my TomTom to try
I was working ok
But when I tried to remove the TMC receiver it would not come out of the socket it was suck
Fast so I give it another try at pulling TMC receiver plug out the TomTom one XL TMC socket
Finally it comes out, but it pulled out the TomTom one XL TMC socket
The TomTom one XL still works ok but now me going to have to sand it off to TomTom to have the TMC receiver socket repaired
It was only two week before I emailed TomTom to asking them it the TMC receiver could be used with the TomTom one XL because it did not say so on the TMC receiver packaging yet most of the retailers where say it did work
So be warned

There must have been a fault with your device, I have been coupling an RDS-TMC receiver to the One XL for quite some time with no real problems (apart from the fact it is a fiddly job once the unit is attached to the mount) - but the device does indeed work with the One XL.
I would suggest you contact TomTom again and arrange to send back the One XL AND the RDS-TMC, if there is a fault with the RDS-TMC plug you could pull the socket out of the replacement Go and find yourself back at square one - Mike |

Send both units back - but make sure TomTom know you are doing this, you should get replacement/ repaired units, it sounds very much like there is something very wrong if the socket won't come off the plug though - Mike |
