New to all this. Just bought a TomTom One because we are doing a tour of Scotland in 2 weeks, travelling from South Wales. I subscribed to tomtoms speed cameras before I discovered this site and have downloaded the fixed cameras, which seem to be working OK, it wont let me download mobile cameras because I don't have a bluetooth phone.
The database on this site seems a lot better, can I download it as well as my tom tom one without compatability problems?
Also if I have the tomtom fixed cameras do you think that would be enough on its own untill the subscription runs out?
Hope someone can help.
Cheers |

hello m8, i have the database off here and it has more cameras than the tt one, it also has mobiles temp etc etc, i'm sure you have read about it, i dont know if they will run in conjunction sorry, try it, but i do know my mate has the tt cams and when we compared by using them side by side in my car he had hardly any cams compared to this data base, i drive a lot for work and this database has saved me from making stupid errors of judgement loads of times, plus you can fully modify these ones with voices etc etc |

Put it down to experience, scrap the TomTom ones, pay £2 and try the ones from here for a month. You won't look back.
Have a look in the TomTom Go section of the forum for links to full instructions on how to install them.
Oh all right I've got a link to the FAQs here...

Look at numbers 4, 5 and 13 especially.
Do get rid of the TomTom ones though because it will get confusing if they BOTH try to alert you for some cameras. |

You won't look back having made the right decision, back up the device though BEFORE you do anything and have a read of the varios FAQ's that cover the installation, configuration and spoken alerts.
Also remember if you are the first person to report a fixed camera position you will qualify for a free for life membership for the members aea of the site including access to the database download (your subscription needs to be valid for this to work). New cameras are still being installed so its not impossible to achieve - Mike |
