|
|
Hello Everyone :D Newbie in the Forums so take it steady .
Just thought I'd pop in and say hello, and put up a quick problem I've encounted on my new TT1 XL Euro.
At the moment I've no extra POIs loaded in except all the speed maps as supplied with the unit.
Today I down loaded the UK speed zoned complete ov2 files and the relevant ogg files for warnings.
Now the problem I've got is that in Tom Tom Home and Windows explorer you can see all the files but when you disconnect from the PC and go into the Tom Tom direct (change preferences then enable / disable POIs option) I'm missing some of the specs POIs.
Now after doing some searching am I right in thinking that your limited to the number of files you can put into the map folder, and by putting in the 'UK speed zoned complete' files I've pushed it beyond it's capabilities.
As an experiment I removed just the UK camera files as supplied with the TT keeping all the Europe ones and it's sorted itself out.
Anyone care to comment as maybe others would face this problem in the future. |

The best approach is to remove the UK TT supplied camera files, that way you will still have the benefit of the Euro cameras should they be needed. The limit to custom POI files is 100 so once this is exceeded you start to loose certain files - the device decides which ones but it seems to be the Specs that suffer first for some reason.
In short what you have done is the best approach for the time being, although I would add you should make sure you have a full back up of the device to the PC you can use TT Home for this or Windows Explorer (which is more reliable IMHO).
The FAQ Page should help with a few tips and links to guides that you might find useful - Mike |

If you have all the TT camera Files for Europe installed, they add up to 74. ;) _________________ Richard

Thanks guys.
I've back up on initial start up so I'm all ok there.
To be honest I'll probably remove all the euro camera data to free up as many POIs as possible and when I next go abroad I'll add back in any relevant country camera POI files.
Still gutted I can't put POI capture on the TT aswell , but hey ho.
Great site by the way. |
