As you suspect the fault is with the mobile 40 camera file perhaps you need to check out the following files are in the map folder on the device:
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.bmp
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ogg
If the ogg file is missing - you need to add it to the map folder before doing the next step:
If/ when it is present got to change preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and scroll through the list of POI until you locate the mobile 40 POI, select it, answer NO if asked to remove the warning, set your distance, and warn only if POI on route as per your preferences, if the unit asks you to select a warning sound Bell, Bong etc there is something wrong with the ogg file, chances are you missed this specific POI Category out when configuring the warnings, this is an easy mistake to make - Mike |

I have for 40 mobile:
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.bmp
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ogg
I went into change preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and selected mobile40, answered NO when asked to remove the warning, set my distance to 300 and unchecked warn only if POI on route. I wasn't asked to select a warning sound. Tried a route demo on my local route and the mobile 40 icons show but there was no voice warning.
I unzipped my copy of Liz_M_speedzoned.zip, copied the mobile 40 ogg file and overwrote the ogg file on my SD card.
Mobile 40 warning still doesn't work. _________________ Bazzza

Have you tried Double Clicking the OGG File (in Explorer) to Play it.
This is just to check that it will play on the PC and that the File itself is OK. _________________ Richard

Give Audacity a try. It will play OGG Files. It's free. _________________ Richard

As an aside, going back a couple of posts, you said Quote: | I can't find a different mobile 40 to test. | .
That's easy... go to "Browse map", tap "Find" - "POI" (any one of "near you", "near home" etc. will do) - scroll down the list to find the "PGPSW Mobile 40" category and select any one. That puts the blue cursor on top of it.
Now when you go to A-B planning, when it asks for the start and end point just select "point on map" and place them on either side of that spot. |

I checked my ogg files on "Audacity" and they play ok.
I followed your instructions and checked numerous "Mobile 40" cameras and the warning voice works fine.
For some strange reason the 2 "Mobile 40" cameras that are local to me do not trigger a warning. I guess, unless you guys have a flash of inspiration, I'm going to have to live with it.
Thanks a lot,

Only thought is that they are on a duel carriageway and actually positioned on the other side of the road, the TomTom will know the cameras are for the other lane so it doesn't warn you - if this isn't the case I am lost as to any explanation - Mike |

One is on a dual carriageway and one isn't, but TomTom is set to warn even if the camera isn't on the route.
I think the only thing I can try now is to run a demo in the opposite direction and/or actually drive past them.
I'll let you know if I discover anything.
Thanks a lot

Can you give us a Lat/Long of where they are, so other people can check?
There's always a possibility that there's a "funny" with these particular locations (the other extreme often happens - where a camera that's definitely OFF your route still fires an alert). If so maybe a minute shift of position on the database will cure it.
You should be able to read the lat/long of your cursor position at the bottom of the browse map page. |

Just for interest, Andy
(with warn only on route, ALL mobiles at 400 yards, Redlights at 150 yards)
From N51.52012, W2.52304 (M4 Eastbound just before Jct 19 M32) to N51.46499, W2.57306 (A4320 Easton Way, off M32 Jct 3).
I get warned by all the following, which are not on (M32) route.
Mobile:6090@50
Redlight:9027@50
Mobile:6194@30
Mobile:6164@30
But NOT by Mobile:6169@30.
I've given up on it all to be honest - just settle for getting everything on route, plus the "added bonus" of quite a lot off route!! _________________ Dennis

Andy,
I drove the route this evening in both directions but the result is the same.
The cameras are in the villages of Gilberdyke and Newport (East Yorks).
They are on "Main Rd" and are Mobile 40s.
The Lat & Long of a point between them is:
Lat 53.7563232178878
Long -0.7151412963867187
Thanks,

Gotcha!!!
These are Pmobile:26884@40 and Pmobile:28420@40.
They are Provisional or Possible camera sites, which have been reported to, but not yet verified by, pgpsw. There are seven Mobile sets and there are seven Pmobile sets - 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and Unknown speed, so if you haven't set the Pmobile sets to warn, none of them will warn you. Go back to your Enable and Warn menus and scroll down until you see pmobile ones to enable/warn. Not everybody wants to have these installed. _________________ Dennis
