Just wondering if anyone can help?
I'm wanting to download POI's from pocketgps but It seems I can only download individual subcategories. Does anyone know how I can group subcategories into 'hotels' for example?
Thanks |

Towards the bottom of the POI Downloads page is a check box entitled "Combine subcategories into category file" check this and all the subcats are automatically combined when you download the file (The check box is near the download button) - Mike |

Yeh I know I have tried that...but then when i click on download it says page cannot be displayed. Below it all says that often IE 7.0 fails to download the files in grouped categories. Do you know a way around this?
Thanks for your reply |

I'm not sure. I Could try that - I know that you cant have more than 100 POI categories on a tomtom go 700.
Thanks |

That's not the same thing. Try downloading say 10 subcategory entries grouped together (like 10 of the ATMs). Another possibility, in addition to "Combine subcategories into category file", also try clicking the adjacent box "Show link". _________________ Dennis

Good at least you got that fixed, I download the files with no more than 20 sub cats selected in one batch, I then use POIEdit to concatenate the files back to a single entity - Mike |

I have to confess, I like "concatenate". The single only thing wrong with Lotus 123 is that the string @function to concatenate doesn't actually use "concatenate" in the @function to achieve concatenation (just an ampersand - disappointing really). _________________ Dennis

We used to have that at the end of our garden, but we used to call it Privet. |
