|

I've got a Garmin Nuvi 350 with a 512 Mb SD Card. I've tried every which way of loading my downloaded POIs onto the Nuvi and on the SD Card, making a directory on the SD card Garmin\POI. I've tried making subdirectories for the categories I want, but that didn't work. I put the files directly into the Garmin\POI directly but that didn't work. I've also tried putting the files into C:\Garmin on my Windows XP computer and tried to run POIInstaller but that doesn't seem to work either. The only custom POIs that show up are the Speed Cameras, but I'm so unsure of how this should work, that I'm not even sure that these are the latest versions. Surely the POI installer programme should run and give me some options but I must admit I'm totally baffled. |

You need to use POILoader to install the POI files to your device, if you don't have this on the PC please download it from Here
When using this to install the POI's make sure you put all the POI files into a single folder on the PC BEFORE pointing the POILoader at the folder to transfer the files and install them to the Nuvi - DO NOT INSTALL MORE THAN 257 Custom POI categories or the unit will refuse to start - Mike |

I downloaded POILoader again, and moved all the POIs to a new folder in My Documents. When I tried to run POILoader, I agreed to the conditions and clicked done. Nothing further happened. I was expecting it to open, ask me to point to the location where I'd stored the files - and nothing, zilch. I seem to be going round and round in circles and getting nowhere after spending most of the afternoon (and times before) trying to do it! |

I think that just means you've installed it. You need to actually run the program now. Find the icon on the Start Menu and click it - probably under Garmin.... |

I've followed all the instructions and still can't run the POI Loader configuration screen as it never runs. Setup is greyed out. I've been back and uninstalled it properly through the control panel then tried reinstalling but POI Loader seems to be the problem. |

I tried again, and deleted POI Loader, then deleted the sub-directories the earlier setup had created. This worked. I was then able to arrange the setup details properly and then it all worked. |
