Question
I'm finding that it takes hours (literally) to send a chart to my PDA.
Just sending the "visible screen is not enough detail but I don't really want the whole chart....is there anyway I can send just one county for example? (Devon in this case). Or how do you vary the size of the visible screen ?

It has been going for 3 hours and is less than half way through!! :x

Thanks

Julie

I presume you're running a USB cradle and not a Serial cradle ? Do you have other USB devices plugged into your PC, and/or do you use a USB hub ? If your cradle is going direct through a hub then plug the cradle directly into the PC. Likewise, if you have other USB devices plugged in, try unplugging these and also changing the USB port you have the cradle plugged into. Usually you have one USB port that is ROOT and the others are slaves from this, and it might help plugging it into another slot.

Copying maps to a Pocket PC (depending on how large they are) can take quite some time. 3 Hours is a bit excessive though unless you're copying over 100mb in which case it's possible.

I use a bluetooth connection at home (the cradle is left at work).

I was trying to copy a fair amount, but then realised that the card was only 128mb and a whole chart is larger than that.....so that was probably the problem.

Generally I find the process slow, could it be the Bluetooth connection is slower than USB?

Is there any way of sending a larger portion of the chart than the other option the "visible chart" section?

Thanks
Julie
