The first two paragraphs are exactly what they were sending out in March, I've italicised the changes from the third paragraph.
TomTom has taken your feedback very seriously and you will be offered a replacement of your RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver, a new version of which will feature improved performance and which we strive to have available Q2 2007.
We have taken note of your details, and will contact you when the revised version is available (in the course of Q2 2007). We will then let you know how to proceed in order to have your receiver replaced.
As the The Smiths song goes, how soon is now? They say they'll be shipped shortly but don't give any tangible date. Not holding my breath.
Thanks for sharing the info. |

Darrren, any reply from TomTom, they are now refusing to even answer basic questions relating to this matter.
My last post to TomTom was a polite 'Please can we have an updated release date', the call was set to research, no explanation or email. I therefore updated the call with just a '.' to change the status, TomTom just reset the status to Research.
Surely they know how stupid they are beginning to look, they should be focusing their efforts on getting existing products working, instead of releasing the new x20 range. |

I couldn't agree more, their inability or unwillingness to make an official announcement regarding this issues is very poor. They should at the very least have offered all of the existing UK customers a free subscription to TomTom's TRAFFIC over GPRS alternative until they have resolved this issue.
I have once again asked for them to comment. _________________ Darren Griffin |

You know what will be the giveaway for the release date - a new application version!
Just as with the FM Transmitter mount, a few days before they were available an updated application version was available.
I don't expect the current application to support a different version of the RDS-TMC receiver - unless of course all that is different is that it has a socket on it for an external aerial!
Todays update - still being ignored by TomTom. |

:DSuccess a sensible answer from TomTom, things are looking good....
Dear Speedcam,
We already started the swap action, we started with the Benelux and German region.
We should start soon to provide further communication in the UK as well.
But you will be contacted regarding that.
With Best Regards |

Still no date though.
Funny how in a matter of days it can go from " we don't have them in stock" to "we are already swapping them out". |

The more I think about this, the more I think this is not true. If they have started to ship these units, why hasn't anyone seen or reported anything, nothing found via google... seems a bit fishey to me |

One last thought, if they have started to ship, then surely Darren should be able to report the news he has ? |

So, it goes from ignoring customers to telling them anything to get rid of them! |

I wonder who's going to be first to crack one open and see where they've connected the antenna wire. _________________ Go740L App 9.510 Europe 985.8155

Looking at the pictures, the V2 receiver appears to be the same as the original one, but with the external antenna that most people have already added using the DIY solution. |
