Thanks Darren.
If they just said sorry, it aint ready yet and it will be August before they appear I would be happier (but not happy!) - just being constantly fobbed off gets really annoying after a while.
I think they should offer everyone who is waiting for a replacement a Traffic subscription until they ship the replacements - I have asked for this but they conveniently ignore this part!
It isn't like I am asking for anything I didn't originally pay for when I bought the device - a working traffic service.
Any help (read pressure) you can provide is appreciated - just reading these forums there are loads of people waiting for the v2 receivers.

I take it they were as evasive with you as well then - my daily "when we have them in stock we will despatch them" email from TomTom was in my inbox when I got home from work.
They refuse to commit to a date. |

Anyone else get the impression that this is not a matter of days away, but a matter of months?

I really think TomTom have lost the plot when it comes to customer service, like others I've asked for an update as to when we may see the replacements, the reply was the standard 'cut n paste' if you are not happy with our support I must write in and complain. All I'm after is an update ! ! !
As a suggestion, just keep re opening the calls, call centres are marked on how many calls are open, and the number of reopened cases, and I suspect that these TMC issues are affecting their stats. |

Don't worry - I reopen daily now. I am thinking of logging a new case daily as well along the lines of "It is now x days since the end of Q2 - where is my replacement?"
If I did this I wonder how many concurrent open calls for the same thing I could have if I just kept reopening them all daily?

Perhaps if everyone who is waiting writes to:
TomTom International BV
Harold Goddijn
Chief Executive Officer
Rembrandtplein 35
1017 CT Amsterdam
The Netherlands
they might take some notice of us!! |

How long do we have to wait on TomTom?
They take weeks to respond to question updates and then they do not give even a glimer of hope of a resolution.
This is a cmpany who do not have any idea of cstomer service. They have alll our email addresses and it would only takea minute to contact customers to update them on the current position, even if this was to say "no progress". But instead TomTom just ignores the fact that we have paid a lot of money (for what the unit actually cost to produce) for a unit which clearly does not work and I would contest they knew very early on it did not work, but still they kept on selling it.
Come on TomTom do the right thing and come out and be honest, that means telling the truth, trust me customers will respect you for it.
Well here ends my rant (well for now). |

I was in Halfords on Saturday and they are still quite happily selling the RDS-TMC receiver. They were blissfully unaware of the problems with them when I asked them if they knew that TomTom had admitted that they were a load of rubbish and a new version was due out.
Looks like they haven't told the retailers to withdraw any existing stock.
Criminal.

I wonder how many people have bought them, plugged them in, and seen the orange spinning disc and assumed that to mean that the unit was receiving traffic updates. There could be hundreds of users out there blissfully unaware that the units don't work as they may never encounter any holdups.
I've sent another ticket to Tomtom asking when exactly Q2 is. |

TomTom have now gone back to the "if you don't like our answer of we haven't got a clue when these are going to be available then write in and complain again because we will ignore that as well" reply.
Any news Darren on your email to TomTom? |

:D I think TomTom are getting a little fed up now . . . instead of closing my call, or even answering it they have just changed the status to 'Research'. What idiots ! ! ! ! |

Research = Ignore you
in my opinion
gives you the impression that they are actually doing something - I have had one of my cases on "Research" for almost 3 months now.
You would have thought that was long enough to read a book on how to provide good customer service....
....or maybe long enough to write one on how to provide the worlds worst! |

Hello,
I have just had the following reply to my complaint from TT support. Maybe there is hope...
The TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver was designed to provide seamless integration of RDS-TMC traffic information with the user-interface of the TomTom GO, providing customers with the best traffic experience on the market.
Through listening to valuable customer feedback, however, it has come to our attention that in some cases the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver does not live up to our customers’ expectations.
TomTom has taken your feedback very seriously and you will be offered a replacement of your RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver, a new version of which will feature improved performance is now available and should be shipped to you shortly.
With Best Regards
The TomTom Customer Support Team |
