|
|
Apologies if this has been posted several times before, but search function didn;t bring anythign useful back...
The battery in my iPaQ 3850 had been slowly failing, leaving me to reload TT5 or TT6 application from scratch every time the battery went dead.
I've replaced the battery with a 2400mAh 3.7V chinese jobbie (i know, i know, but the CompaQ one at £58 costs more than the ipaq is worth !)
Battery chnaged no problem, has charged no problem, with battery status showing 100% in the system menu.
BUT...
I can't do a hard reset of the ipaq anymore - pushing the left and right buttons while holding the stylus in the reset button just completes a soft reset after about 10 seconds of depressing the buttons, no dimming of the screen etc etc.
Soft reset is instananeous as previously..
So what do i do..
1. replace original battery and confirm whether hard reset is reinstated ?
2. check for a ROM upgrade somewhere ??
3. drain the new battery, rechrge and try again ?
HELP !! |

Odd, I can't see how the battery change would have affected this. Do the buttons operate as expected under PocketPC? i.e. launching Calendar and Today? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I suspected there might be an issue with one of the outer buttons - i don;t have the unit with me at present but will check tonight. As i've only had the back cover off i can't see how i have disturbed the front buttons. Well worth a check tho thanks. |

Ok back home now and can report that all buttons work as expected - unit fully charged, no signs of any issues bar the same problem of not being able to achieve the hard reset |
