True but let's hope this gives O2 a kick up the behind to get a walk'n'talk type data package going!
It's one thing to imitate an iPhone ,quite another to replicate the interface and gestures etc. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I brought a nokia N95 Yesterday, the price was £499, so far I cant fault it although I havent used the sat nav as yet. I have 02 but didnt realise the internet on the phone would be quite pricey to use. the wi fi ability on the N95 would be quite handy for me, but I think I would have to find out the charges first as I would hate to be presented with a humungous bill.
My computer is 4 years old and it still does everything I need it to do. Its just the new things now that come with computers, built in blue tooth, wireless etc. but as someone pointed out I think its those who play top of the range games that change their computers every couple of years or so. |

That'll be me then! My machine is a home built, custom monster! I'm currently looking at a 22" wide screen monitor to boot! But it's getting on a bit. Two years ago it was it, but now it's due an overhall. 8)
However if you use any heavy graphics intensive programs as I do, other than games you can easily run out of power. 3D design programes, music editing, Photo editing, movie editing, all need to be run on a decent machine. It is part of my job so I get to preach what I practice and vice versa. _________________ Dom

Hoping you can try for a blu-ray dvd drive on your home made computer in the near future for games.
I have many home made computers before for last 21 years.
I am still looking for HD DVD RW Drive - Grrrr |

I'm a 'heavy' user but my MacBook Pro does all that I require which includes PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, video editing etc. 2Gb RAM and 2.33GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo so not cutting edge by any means. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I haven't decided yet as the xbox's and playstations of this world are making decent games for the pc a little scarce, and my dvd collection would be expensive to replace.
Not neccessary I think! _________________ Dom

Superdom's is bigger than mine) is a year old now, so I had to go get a Macbook Pro 17 last month. _________________ Dennis

Nothing wrong with a 21" monitor. Watever suits! I have a three year toshiba tecra taptop for work too. It's a real work horse, as it needs to be, but there I run two monitors on it. One for doing my job on, and the other for browsing the forum.
I'm due an upgrade there too but buttering up the boss is tricky when he's tightening the purse strings. _________________ Dom

I cant get the new vista windows to work on my PC, do they bring something like that out just to get people to spend hundreds on new pc's? I dont really know what difference it would make to me but I like to keep up with the times. |

Start a new thread and I'll try and help, I run an IT Consultancy so for once I should know what I'm on about! Vista is normally a very straightforward install? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I think it might have something to do with my pc being too old and unable to cope with vista. Good to know there is someone around who can help with pc problems though :D |

It very differulty to use a windows vista pc with all some old softwares but is won't work at the moment as I don't want to waste the moneys of that as is not ready yet until the microsoft is sorting out the problem.
So is best to stick with the XP Pro for a while until the windows vista is sorting out the problem in 6 months or 8 months time from the Microsoft peoples bashing about it. |
