This idea raises serious concerns as to saftey if the drivers are looking at a computer screen rather than driving the car. It really scares me, my expericance with Human factors indicates some people will use the live video feed rather than the real world one.
I know everyone on this forum would use the system wisely, but there are others, the lowest common denominator, that will use this to prove Darwin's theoy, and possibly take you or me with them, disproving his theory.
We should be afraid.... very afraid... if these ideas come to anything real....... |

Although it might not show in the diagrams, this is where HUD would make this more realistic.
We already have Ministers talking about using a Sat Nav with your hands becoming an offence and this would make the situation even worse, but using a HUD and talking to the unit through bluetooth would be a far better for safety.
Both HUD and bluetooth technology are with us now. _________________ TomTom Go 60

TomTom software is not even capable of using 8-bit fonts, so you can forget about the real-time visual data processing, HUDs, TomTom telepathy and other sci-fi |

So why bother with the vidao feed? Why not just use a HUD to overlay the directional info onto the screen, overlaying the arrows onto what the the driver sees in real life....
Maybe I should search and see if anybody has this covered in a patent already....

You'd need a windscreen sized HUD! _________________ Darren Griffin |
