|
|
I have download the latest camera DB and now wish to update the CF card in my Dell Axim
In the file there is a file pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2
I left click on this to open and it opens up a box that says (paraphrased)
Windows cannot open file, it needs to know what prog created it. Can do it automatically or manually
I choose auto and it tells me the file type is unknown and windows doesn’t recognize the file type
I cannot remember how I got round this the last time!
Any suggestions as to why I am getting this message?
Thanks |

Just copy the ov2 file to the map folder on your CF card you do not need to open this file on the PC, this will replace the old speed camera database with the new one when you answer YES to the "overwrite exisitng file" message that Windows throws up when you try it.
Right click the ov2 file select "COPY"
Navigate to the mobile device CF card or CF card in a card reader
Left Click to open the map folder
Right click and select "PASTE"
This will transfer the update to the device - Mike |

Mike it seems to have loaded ok
A suggestion
on the next db update could you advise the location of one of the new cameras that has been added ,as a 'control'
1) e could then check it isnt on our existing db
2) after loading the current one we could then check it has been loaded ok
along the lines of...Control camera location for this update is 'town' 'street' |

Funny, I suggested this to MaFt (the database boss-man) only the other day. |
