|
|
Hello,
I have a TomTom Go 710 and have installed several free POIs by placing the relevant bmp and ov2 files in the Western_Europe folder on my device. When I use TomTom Home to list installed POIs, all the POIs show as installed. However, when I use the device itself to try to 'enable' specific POIs, only some, and not all of the POIs are listed. For example TomTom Home shows Carluccios and Waitrose as installed, but the device itself only lists Carluccios for Enable/Disable.
Any ideas?
Thanks - Paul. |

Tomtom have placed a limit on the maximum number of POI files you can have. Once you cross the limit, behaviour is "unpredictable" 8O
For your device, I think the limit is 100. _________________ Jock

Hmmm - I've got a similar issue with a new Tom Tom One V2. It doesn't show all of the POI icons eg Shell fuel stations and VW dealers etc |

Welcome to the forum Phil, your device has a limit of 100 Custom POI files, if you exceed this value certain POI files will fail to show up on the device. Open Windows Explorer and view the contents of the map folder, count up how many .ov2 files are present, over 100 you need to re-think what you have on the device.
For example for ATM's and Fuel I use the all in one file, it doesn't matter what the supplier is named, so long as I can use the ATM to draw cash, or in the case of Petrol obtain fuel. This can save a considerable number of "Custom POI" allocations on the device, remember over 100 and it behaves in an unpredictable way - Mike |
