|
|
A few days ago a couple of new cameras appeared on my route to work and were still there today. I'd like to submit them but need a bit of advice.
The cameras are in a stretch of long term roadworks (building a by pass) on the A507. From the pictures on this site the nearest in appearance is a monitron .. smallish and yellow and on a pole... although the ones in the picture look a little like small gatsos whereas I think these look more like small truvelos. They are clearly not permanent, they are chained to the railing of a bridge, one each side of the road with a quite large metal box at the foot of each.
So what camera type do I enter? And shall i enter them as two cameras one facing each way (which is the reality) or as one camera bi-directional since they are very nearly oppposite each other. And which way do these things shoot? They look as if they would take a pic as you approach but i'm no expert.

...and submit them as two cameras.
The 'heading' is the compass direction YOU are travelling if you were to get "caught". |

Yes I did exactly that yesterday evening, entered as 2 cameras and did my utmost to be accurate about the headings ...
But, this morning the cameras have gone! They were there for about 4 days and I rather suspect that they might re-appear either in the same place or elsewhere within the roadworks area at any time while the bypass is being built.
If they keep moving the cameras should I report them each time they reappear in a new position .. or will that just result in a mass of unwanted alerts.
The area I mean is basically any approach to the village of Ridgemont on the A507, Bedfordshire where there is a temporary 40mph restriction. The bypass will not be finished until next year.

If you report them as they move and add a comment that these are the same cameras moving along with the roadworks that should be sufficient.
Thanks for your input, it is appreciated _________________ Darren Griffin |
