Hi Everyone,
I'm interested in downloading POI' from this site, but I'm a little wary about the cosequences.
I've just purchased a Tom Tom One Regional New Edition Model, and the POI's that come with it often don't have the particular locations I want. As a result the POI's this site offers free of charge seems ideal.
However, I'm worried about how safe it is to download POI's from anywhere other than Tom Tom's official Web site! Also I'm cocerned if downloading from this site would invalidate my 2 year guarantee?
Therefore I suppose my questions is: Has anyone in the same position as me had any problems? I'd be truly gratful if anyone can give me advice in this matter.
Cheers H. Walters. |

Using 3rd party POI's will have no effect on your warranty. Download and enjoy! If you spot any errors, report them here for the benefit of other users.

Been using dozens of 3rd party POIs for 18 months - no problems.
If it was likely to invalidate your warranty i doubt TomTom / Garmin etc would give you the option or the tools to do it. |

Thanks everyone,
I'll take your advice on board. Glad to hear Paul saying he has had no problems. That's really re-assuring. Lee! I will certainly report any faults. Cheers. H.Walters |

Harold, one quick word of caution - the TomTom device has a limit of 100 custom POI files so don't download everything available and throw it on the device, be selective from whats available - Mike |

Thanks Mike.
I did wonder if there was a limit. I'm assuming that you mean 100 over and above the POI's that are installed when the Tom Tom was purchased?
If I were to buy a bigger SD card, would I then be able to download more POI's?
Once again, thank you for letting me know about the limit.

Yes - 100 additional POI files allowed

No - the size of SD card makes no difference to the 100 POI limit. |
