|

Hi,
I believe its built into the power cradle, but there does seem to be a TMC aerial available too. Does this mean the reception is bad in the cradle?
Also, what is the reception like on the M4 corridor? I take it its the ITIS (?) Classic FM only service?
Thanks,
Neil |

I have just taken delivery of a C520t this week and been up the M4 twice since.
There should be a 'pink' ariel lead that plugs into the back of your cradle which can be run along your windscreen.
That said I seem to be receiving TMC info but it doesn't seem very reliable since I have been in 2 major jams this week and neither showed up.
Also according to the manual you should see 2 little cars within the GPS icon on the screen if TMC is being received. I haven't seen these cars at all and yet I appear to be receiving messages and also seeing the little numbered triangles on the screen where incidences are supposed to have occured (and yet there is nothing there when I pass through!)
I don't know if the TMC is Trafficmaster generated or from ITIS. Personal past experience has suggested that ITIS is very unreliable so I hope not. |

Thanks for your feedback.
Hmm, thats a little worrying. I assumed that when they advertised that TMC was 'built in' to the power cradle I thought I wouldnt need to trail an aerial across the windscreen!!! Thats bordering on false advertising...
I think I will have to stick with TomTom GPRS :-(
Only question now is whether or not to wait for new 520 or go for a XL now... |

I've found that running the aerial vertically up the windscreen (to the rear view mirror) gives better reception than running it horizontally across the dashboard _________________ Andy
