I recently had my tomtom one origional repaired and a new battery, GPS module and its hard drive were replaced. I have since been able to get the actual Great Britain map working but the speed cameras from tomtomOV2 (pocketgps) won't work it says no GPS device. What am i doing wrong????
Please help. |

I am somewhat confused by your post, the TomTom One does not have a Hard Drive, it uses an SD memory card?
Have you re-installed the speed camera database since getting the device back from repair? - if not you will need to re-install the database to the map folder on the memory card AND configure the Warn When Near POI option for each POI category installed (Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI) - Mike |

I got it back and basically everything was replaced (sorry i didn't mean hard drive i meant like its mother board). I downloaded the up to date file and saved them to my Great Britain folder then when i switched my tomtom on it said no GPS device. When i delete the camera files it works fine????????? |

Did you unzip the download before placing the files into the map folder? - you need to do this, then take the device outside to get a GPS position fix, the POI camera files will not affect the GPS reception of the device - Mike |

Why not test it now to be on the safe side, this method doesn't waste fuel so its green :
Switch on the TomTom device, or start the application as applicable.
Go to Advanced Planning (AtoB)
Set a departure point using Address/ Postcode FY43NN House number 95.
Set a destination point using Address/ Postcode PR41AX House number 33.
Now go to Show Route/ Route Demo, set the replay speed to around 100% and sit back watch/ listen, you should receive a Gatso 30 warning within about 45 seconds followed very closely by a Mobile 30 warning. - Mike |

May have to take it back to repair as it keeps freezing and switching itself off and won't let me view the demo. |

Ensure it's fully charged, the SD card is not too full and/or try the 30 second reset trick. |

Hi, I've tried everything you've said but every time i choose a destination it either freezes and switches it self off or restarts itself (it does this alot). I've had this for about a year and before they repaired it this never happened.
Should i just send it back and request a new one. I rely on my tomtom all the time and having this problem is a real pain! |

If it IS fully charged & still doing it, send it back again. It should not behave like this! |

Usually a minimum of 2MB is recommended. _________________ Richard

That's what I thought but he says he tried all the suggestions to no avail. |

That's what I thought but he says he tried all the suggestions to no avail. | As he didn't post as to how much Free Memory he had, I thought it better to quantify it. _________________ Richard
