Can anyone help me please i'm having trouble backing up my go510.
It keeps coming up with different errors saying it cant read different files??
I've tried renaming the files( cline.dat, data.chk) but to no avail?
on the main pc i'm running windows XP however on my laptop its windows Vista however it will not do a backup on either system.
Many Thanks,

Oops! What are you doing? - certainly renaming files is a big NO NO. Do not use any backup method which comes with Windows XP or Vista.
There are two ways of doing a backup.
1. Using the program which comes on the CD - Tom Tom Home. Many people, including myself, never use this for backup, as it can sometimes be a bit selective and not do a total backup.
2. Using Windows Explorer. Select Tools ... Folder Options ... View ... check to Show Hidden Files and Folders, uncheck Hide extensions for known file types. Create a directory on your PC, e.g GO510 Backup 2007-05-31. Then either connect the GO via USB, or better still if you've got a card reader, put the SD card into it. Then go to the external drive which will now be called TomTom and click on the first folder or file, then click Edit .... Select All. Then Edit ... Copy. Then go to your new backup directory, click Edit ... Paste and all the files will be copied to your PC as a backup. _________________ Dennis
