This is the difference between where I live in Spain on either the WE map or ES map. On the WE map my road doesn't exist but it did on the V5.x maps then on the 6.x maps of Western Europe it disappeared.
Spain
WE
Needless to say TomTom don't read emails and just refer you to their map providers :x |

Thats a joke because its TT who have trimmed the WE_v6.75 map to fit on 1Gb card.
No consolation to you that the detail of Montaneta El Eden is on the WE_CE v6.75 map.
In some areas the WE map looks more like "major roads of WE"
There's no indication on the TT download webpage that there is a big difference in detail between the WE map and WE_CE map (or individual country maps). The only differences indicated are the size and a few extra small countries.
They are misleading customers. |

They are pirates, grossly misleading customers on their download page.
As was said elsewhere
"Asking any amount of money for out of date and incomplete data is a crime in itself. I dont mind paying for maps, as long as an effort has been made to supply accurate data."

I have used the UK & IE plus MROE v675 and near where I live is a road that the map says is blocked off. Using both Western Europe and West & Central, this error is not there. _________________ TomTom Go720 v8.320

In the UK/Ireland map there are a number of toll charges which are now recognised which is a major help to me as I there is only a min or two in one of them for me and it was a pain to avoid it before. Now its a simple push of the screen.
M4 Severn Bridge
M90 Forth Road Bridge
M25 Dartford Tunnel / QE2 Bridge
New London Congestion Charging area
As to actual changes in the map....erm...yeah...havent found any so far but at least the overlay data has proved useful to me.
Cant say the same from their useless RDS TMC adaptor, what a waste of space, all the way up the country, no signal, even when I can SEE the transmitter! |

Some success - after a month of arguing with TomTom support, and providing specific examples of differences, TomTom has now agreed to exchange my WE map for a W&CE map.
Many thanks to everybody who helped spot differences!
So, if TomTom is refusing to upgrade you, just be persistent enough and addres all their factual objections. |

Well done julf, your perseverence seems to have paid off. Hope now the precedent is set, it'll work for everyone else with the same issue.
I've just returned from a trip from the North East to London and I'm happy to confirm that as per Geoff_UK's earlier comment the new (major) road system at Ferrybridge seems to be bang up to date on the UK 675 map. I noticed the newer version took me on a different route from a few weeks earlier with the 660 map once I was within a few miles of my actual destination. I can't recall if this or the earlier route was quicker. Both got me to the car park in St Johns Wood where I wanted to be though, which is the main thing.

On the TomTom webite you are only shown the WE/CE map as available for download if you say you have a 910, otherwise you are offered the WE map. I have a ONE Regional. Am I right in assuming that I can safely download the WE/CE map for my ONE for use with a 2Gb card? |

Yes, no problem.
Back up everything first.
Copy your old card to the 2Gb one, plug it in to ensure it works then d/l & install new map to the card.
You'll need to "switch maps" in the preferences to activate/enable it. |

Thanks binman. That's what I thought but I reckoned it was safer to check before buying the new map. |

When I first bought TomTom 5, there was a mistake in Swansea which had not been there in my earlier version 3 (illegal right turn at a city centre junction). I immediately notified TeleAtlas.
Just over a year later I bought an updated version 5 map - the error was still there. Again I notified TeleAtlas.
When I bought my TomTom One Europe I was pleased to note that the NavTeq mapping at that junction was correct. I have since seen version 6.75 TeleAtlas, and the fault still remains! It seems that there is no point notifying TeleAtlas - they take no notice. It was a disappointment to read that TomTom have dropped NavTeq - I was going to wait until the next NavTeq Europe maps came out before upgrading

Purchased my TT 910 last Friday and having read many threads before purchase I knew the maps were going to be out of date.
The day after purchasing I e-mailed TT and politely informed them that I was disappointed with the fact that new maps were available but I had the older V6 versions.
An e-mail came back several hours later asking me to provide the product number and a copy of the receipt, to which I did and yesterday I received another e-mail telling me that V6.75 had been added to my map downloads. They also appologised for the timescale!
I must admit I am impressed with this, as I have owned a Bluemedia Satnav system for 2 years and the same thing happened but they never allowed me to download the maps.
I just hope this level of customer support continues should I need there assisatnce again. |
