|
|
For instance, the TomTom One comes with a POI list called "Restaurant" pre-installed. If, for example, I want to add a favourite restaurant of mine to that list instead of having to create a new POI Category of "My Restaurants", I cannot seem to do it.
How do I add to TomTom's own lists?
When I click on a location and then go to "Add as POI", I am only ever offered my own POI lists, never those that were pre-installed. _________________ - - - - - - - - -

I'm afraid that's how it works. There is no straightforward way to modify the POI.dat File.
It is possible, but to my mind, just not worth the hassle. _________________ Richard

Thanks for getting back so quickly. In that case, I'll just run my list parallel to theirs.
I never understand how these mapping companies have the cheek to list McDonald's and Burger King (and their like) in a restaurant category. If I had to define a restaurant, it would include being p[rovided with cutlery! _________________ - - - - - - - - -

They have to keep the categories to a manageable level but I have to agree. Having said that I would never rely on a POI list for my choice of eatery unless the unit is from ViaMichelin. They have their Michelin guides as the basis of their Restaurant and Hotel POIs with detailed descriptions of menu, chef and costs, very nice _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have just migrated from ViaMichelin to TomTom and can assure you that their pre-loaded restaurant POIs included McDonalds, etc. _________________ - - - - - - - - -

I wasn't suggesting they didn't. Just that the restaurant's are from the Michelin Guide _________________ Darren Griffin |
