|

Although we've sorted out (I think) the french situation, in Switzerland it is illegal to have GPS based speed camera data. POIs are a doddle. I simply have a card without them on. However, is there any way to delete the Tom Tom installed camera (non-poi) database. Just having them turned off is not enough. They need to be physically removed from the machine, and I don't know how.

On the Tom Tom site, in the Switzerland section is a french post confirming this, and saying that sat-navs sold in Switzerland will not have cameras installed, but they will continue to be installed in devices sold in the rest of Europe.

I saw that, but that refers to removal of POIs and I didn't think the latest devices had them installed as POIs. |

It is still the way to remove the TomTom Speed Camera database from a device if they are installed.
TomTom Speed Cameras are still using .ov2 so they are the same POI file name, it is just the actual file content that is different which is why the device handles them in a different way - i.e. you cannot configure them etc - Mike |

Ok. And presumably the menu for speed cameras will be greyed out if there aren't any installed? I want to be fireproof. |

Remove them and see? To be within the law you only have to uninstall the Swiss cameras. If you still have other countries cameras on there then the menu option would still be available I would think? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Since I don't use the TT database, I may as well dump them all. |
