Export2iGO

This utility will convert speed camera files in Generic Ascii or TomTom OV2 format to the iGO8 or 2006SE Plus text format.

Download version 3.2 here:

Export2iGO.zip

International version with support for editable multiple user interface language files.

See the Readme file in the download for further information.

Does it take into account the RedSpeed cameras like the PGPSW one does? also, the PGPSW files for iGo has heading data which isn't available in the other asc downloads

Yes, it does if the RedSpeed camera files are provided in the database;
e.g. pocketgps_uk_redspeed_30.asc, pocketgps_uk_redspeed_40.asc etc., or similarly named files in Ov2 format.

However, it now also extracts cameras based on the description as well as the file name, so it extracts the PGPSW RedSpeed cameras correctly. The settings for this can be modified in the "Settings.ini" file.

This information is not in any of the PGPSW Ascii or Ov2 downloads so cannot be extracted. If this is included in the Ascii files then it will be extracted. See the Readme file in the download for more information.

Apart from the iGO database do any of the other PGPSW downloads (in any format) have camera type and heading data ?

nearly every format has camera type but this is within the actual files - i.e. gatso, truvelo, monitron, redspeed are all in the 'gatso' file - we don't have a separate redspeed file - we have enough already!

as for heading data the only formats using this at the moment are: iGO text format, MioMap v3, and Drive Smart

MioMap v3 is a specific format that needs creating via some custom made software and is not 'readable' and DriveSmart is a bizarre twist on a csv using semi-colons instead of commas and commas for the decimal points...

for reasons of file size and bandwidth we only include data that is needed for the specific format - i.e. the only units that can use heading data are those mentioned above so there is no point adding extra data that can't be used for the other formats.

Hi ervius, nice to hear from you. All credit where credits due ! Smile

I might have a look at exporting to MioMap format.

Do MioMap still use the ".upd" file format ? If so, could you let me have details of the file structure ? You could PM me if you don't want to post it.

Regards

I think this has a bug in the ov2 to asc conversor, you use comma (,) for decimal point in coordenates and export don't works.
Code:

; Generic Ascii file created by Export2iGO.
2,08352, 41,37806, "100  A-2 Esplugues DIR BCN"
-4,10977, 37,16201, "100  A-92"

If I use .asc generated by PoiEdit with decimal point export works fine....
Code:

; This Ascii PoiFile was generated on 26/05/2007 by PoiEdit, ©2002-2006 by Dnote Software. All rights reserved.
2.08352, 41.37806, "100  A-2 Esplugues DIR BCN"
-4.10977, 37.16201, "100  A-92"

Or I do something wrong?

Good Work !!!

Yes, it's a bug related to the system regional decimal symbol settings.

Thanks for the report, I'll work on a fix.

Fixed in version 1.4 Smile

TomTom ".ov2" files are now imported correctly irrespective of the system regional decimal symbol settings.

So you can set the system regional decimal symbol to "." or "," and the conversion will not be affected.

Thanks, now the conversor works fine....

I forgot to tell you that I'm spanish to give you the idea of the problem that was in windows regional settings, sorry...

An idea, can you put a button to launch a .bat file for renaming all files after conversion ? many people must rename many asc files to assign speed to cams and it's a bit slower to do by hand.

My apologies also, I hadn't realised that the regional settings would cause a problem.

Can you post the names of the files before and after renaming.
