Perhaps, but it's outside my knowledge. I am surprised that someone with experience of the TT One hasn't found this thread to offer help. I think perhaps you should try starting a new thread with the title "Please help me put my TT ONE back to working". Then somebody clever is sure to see and come helping. |
Good idea I'll make a new thread entry trying my best to describe what's happening with my TomTom One.
I've phoned TomTom support and got hold of a very nice guy. He confirmed that this click-sound shouldn't be there but he couldn't come up with anything that I havn't already tried except for one thing, trying out my sd card in another unit. So I'm goona try my SD card in a friends TomTom One and see what happens. (And the other way around as well, trying my SD card in his TomTom.)
Sincerely

Do you still get the clicking sound when running off the internal battery, whilst you use the one in the car, or is it only happening when connected to the car charger. |

I've tried out running on battery, usb and car charger. The click-sound is there all the time.

Surely that won't work as the maps will be registered to the wrong device? |

AFAIK, original cards with their original maps are pre-authorised and seem to work OK, it's just copies, or new maps that don't.

Ah.. I've visited a friend now who also owns a TomTom One thinking I would try out my SD card in his unit. But there was no need to because his One also has the clicking sound.. :D
So I'm guessing this might just be the way the sample playback works/sounds on these devices. (In short, quite crappy if you ask me.)
I don't think I'm gonna get very far trying to explain this to TomTom support tomorrow but I can always try. I do hope this issue gets adressed in next OS update.
To you who don't hear this I would suggest them to listen carefully or even try installing a "silent" voice set.
Sincerely
LarsErik |
