The instructions for installing the safety camera database for TomTom users says:
TomTom OV2 Installation Instructions
Instructions coming soon for TomTom Home
Anyone out there able to direct me towards instructions of how to install using TomTom Home? I have just bought my TomTom One having finally given up on ViaMichelin. _________________ - - - - - - - - -

My TomTom came pre-loaded so no SD card. If I just put them onto an SD card and insert the SD card in the TomTom, will they be recognised? _________________ - - - - - - - - -

A fullback up was the very first thing I did with it.
And thanks, I have put them in with the mapping and they work fine.
At least in this forum, I should find some more people around for help than used to be in the ViaMichelin forum. _________________ - - - - - - - - -

I have just chucked my ViaMichelin to the back of the wardrobe, and bought a TomTom ONE, Much better, less bulky, and voice warnings. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

Hi Tanda
How spooky that both of us migrated to the same system from ViaMichelin...! I knew you as a good buddy on that forum and it'll be good to still read your stuff here. _________________ - - - - - - - - -

OMG, is that too much info or what? I lost attention after 4 paragraphs.
Its so easy to just copy the files to the device map folder..
Is this supposed to be easier? |

I lost attention after 4 paragraphs. | Yes I agree as I said it is WAR AND PEACE but it is a step by step guide, the largest problem is the capability within the software to modify the actual location where the files have to be placed - I don't use the default settings due to hard drive partitions etc. And I am sure others have altered settings within the options in TomTom Home BEFORE finding the Speed Camera installation option from this site.
If the step by step is followed and the user then learns where to extract the files to, subsequent updates are far easier.
I only use the Home package on the PC for software updates, I use the ov2 drag and drop method which is the traditional way most of us update the camera database, but the Home option is there should people want to try/ use it - Mike |
