With SCDB you can register on their site free of charge.
With difficulty you will be able to find a google earth speed camera download for free. The file is a kmz file overlay. You can download the camera file for any of the countries covered or all of them.
The file opens in google earth - you save as zml. The kmz is a zipped version of the kml.
You then open the kml in poiedit and save as ov2.
You then have a file with about 40,000 entries. _________________ RQ

Many thanks to everyone for their replies.
I'll have a look at the website suggested by Andy_P2002 and RQ. Looks like a POI database might be the easiest solution at this point.
Can no one shed any light on the fact that even when I can access TomTom PLUS services via the TomTom Home interface, there is no sign of any Safety Camera option? _________________ TomTom 720

Have you tried re-installing the software?
Have you tried using V6.524?
Just clutching at straws.
You don't need to have a phone connected, or BT enabled, to be able to get the full PLUS Menu working. _________________ Richard

Sorry to appear to be a bit slow - but whats the best way to re-install the software? I assume you mean the TomTom's firmware?
As I don't just know when the problem first arose, I don't think going to a backup is an option.
Can just the TomTom program be re-installed, without overwriting my POIs, cameras, .ogg files, etc? _________________ TomTom 720

Use the setup that came on the Disk when you first had it. _________________ Richard

Oldboy
When I deleted my paired O2 Xda Orbit phone from my TT510, I lost the "This feature is not supported" message I was getting when hitting the TomTom Plus services button.
When I touch the button now, I get a blue screen with the following message:
TomTom PLUS
To use the TomTom PLUS services, you need to set up your wireless data connection. Do you want to do this now?
As my phone won't work with this feature, I touch the NO button and am immediately returned to the TT main menu.
If I answer YES, it will pair with the O2 Xda but only finds handsfree and phonebook features. It then states on a red screen:
This phone does not report wireless data connection (DUN) capabilities. TomTom PLUS services cannot be used with this phone.
So, as far as I can see the software is working as TomTom intend - I cannot access TomTom PLUS services if paired to the Xda and if not paired to a suitable phone then Tom Tom PLUS services aren't available at all!!!!!! 8O _________________ TomTom 720

To activate the Safety Cameras you don't need a phone connected or the BT connection.
The Cameras are not part of the TT PLUS Account setup.
This is why I believe you need to re-install an earlier version of the software and then upgrade again. Something is missing and I don't know what.
I'll try to get some screen shots to Post on what I can see in my menus. _________________ Richard

I have no phone connected and the BT is not enabled. I Tap the PLUS Services Icon and get ...
On this page and the next if I tap any Icon for updates, etc. I get asked to connect a Device. If I tap the Safety cameras Icon I get ...
If I do anything other than tap the Show safety cameras, or Enable Warnings, I'm asked to connect again. Tapping either of those two does not require a BT Connection.
Well it doesn't on my 910. _________________ Richard
